Last few days....

As I searched through my Iphoto to try and find a picture that summed up my experience here, I found a funny picture from a bathroom I once peed in.

Though it does not sum up my experience here by any means, it does have some meaning. I could go into it and be all philosophical and shit but I'll leave that up to you 'cuz I'm too tired to type that much right now. I just challenge you to ponder what this funny little misspelled sign has to offer.

I'm headed home in four days, and its bittersweet. I will miss the 幸福的生活(happy life) I've lived here for the past 4 months, but am extremely excited to be back to my beautiful(美) life back at home. I miss everyone and everything, and have lots to come home to. It'll be nice not to feel like a fat cow also, since every girl here is a size zero.

In conclusion, when in Taiwan:

use protection.

Please.

..watch out for killer mosquitoes. Its tropical here. They don't play.

And lastly, no abroad fake "relationships" with anyone named 胖虎 (Fat Tiger) who end up with your crazy bi-polar, mentally and emotionally unstable classmate Cheryl aka Crackhead, or crushes on boys with girlfriends (I'll miss you Ivan!!!! lol), especially if they are bff's with your fake ex-bf. (whew that was a mouthful)

Over and out from overseas.

Love always.

GRRRRRR

Ok, so you know how I'm usually happy and cheery and upbeat and shit? Yea. Things have recently changed. My blog, thus far, has had almost no shit-talking, and virtually no negativity. Here it comes (I'll try and keep it short):

So basically, my friends and I have been frequenting a lounge called "Bed". We have made friends with the bartenders and managers there, they LOVE us. One guy in particular, has taken an intense liking to me. So I've been hanging out with him, and kickin' it at his bar with him from time to time. I'm not really interested in anything but a friendship, so I think No big deal, riiiight?

Nuh-Uh. OF COURSE my negative ass aunt who I am living with thinks the absolute WORST of dude shes never even met AND the WORST of the situation. She basically has convinced herself that I am "dating" (*fucking*) a gangster bad boy who works at a bar. I'm sorry auntie, but you think THIS DUDE is a gangbanger? Good thing she hasn't met some of my friends!

I was fine with her being against our friendship until I get a call on my cell phone this morning at 2am while I'm out celebrating my friend Eddie's birthday, and who is it? MY MOM. My lovely aunt has phoned my mom to TELL ON ME which actually means my aunt is projecting these stories she's made up onto my mom. So of course my mom is freaking out and telling me I have to listen to my aunt and I need to stop partying so much because its making her high blood pressure go up even higher...blahblah...
The situation I am currently in is absolutley rediculous. I have 3 weeks left here, and I am basically guilt-tripped into:
A. Not kickin' it with dude AT ALL
B. Not partying AT ALL
C. LYING about my whereabouts if I do decide to go out

To make matters worse its like 100 f-ing degrees and sticky as hell and I just want to go home and get pushed into West Campus pool by the fine-ass lifeguards I work with.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

love always.

...take off all yo' clothes...

'Cuz it's hot as a mothaaaafucka out here. Its like 95 degrees during the day with 50-90% humidity which makes going outside unbearable. Its Saturday, and I am locked up in the house with the AC blasting, instead of outside roaming the city. I don't know if I could EVER get used to this climate...
oh! haha, wait! oh yea...... ITS GONNA RAIN TOMORROW!!!!
And I'm not talkin' about a complete climate change (hot and sticky to cold and rainy), oh no, Its gonna be hot and sticky and raining tomorrow. YAAAAAYY. ugh. Kudos to these people who can feeez with this weather, man.

So how do I stay cool besides sitting almost naked in my air-conditioned room?

BING.
"bing" in chinese means ice cold. It is also a well-loved desert here in Taiwan. Its basically shaved ice covered in condensed milk and brown sugar water with fruit and sorbet on top. This particular one has mango jelly, kiwi, strawberries and mango sorbet. It is a tantalizing, quenching treat on a hot day. There are many other fruit options, as well as red bean, a traditional treat here, but I like this combo the best.
If you are ever in Taiwan, check out Ice Monster on Yong Kang st.

Gotta go take a cool shower now, I'm sticky.....again.

I dont like many animals

Only a few.
Friskee, the rabbit my sister and I shared (wild and free, not to mention horny as a rabbit).
Zoe, a great dane (majestic and intimidating)
Rylie, a pug (who incidently ruined my favorite pair or denim colored leggings)
NewNew a cocker spaniel (who I live with currently)
whats Moi's dogs name? I like that one...

But most of all, I liked ZEEBZ. She was so hideous and beautiful all at the same time. She breathed louder than any human I know, (and even though I hate loud breathers, her respiration was endearing). Her little pink tongue, smaller than the tippy top of a pink eraser, hung loosely out of her toothless mouth, and her eye boogers stained her white, lion-style coat. While all of this may sound horrendous, she was amazing. Moody and sullen, she owned the apartment. The apartment wasn't the apartment without her. I stalked Moi's blog today to find out Ziba has passed. I don't know how old she was, but she lived a good long life. The beginning of which I am not aware, but she definitely got high a couple of times courtesy of me and Mk. My only regret is that I was not there to say goodbye. I will always remember you Zeebz.

(not actually her, she was cuter. This was just the most accurate picture I could find)

(this is not a joke, no matter how much you believe I am incapable of loving animals due to faces of disgust I sometimes flash at them).

Love always.

...............

...an uphill battle.

Interesting facts (unfortunately, no picture):

All buses in Taipei (and I'm assuming the majority of developed parts of Taiwan), have a sign on the front doors that says, "NO Birds" with a duck and a chicken in a circle with a line through it.
I couldn't help but smile to myself when I noticed that on the bus the other day. Just thought I'd share.

Some People have hairy moles. Some Asians believe it is good luck to leave these hairy moles unkempt and un-groomed. I have seen more long mole hair than I'd like to admit. Can't there be some mole-hair-plucking awareness? Am I alone in thinking that long, scraggly hair growing out of a raised (black, brown, grey) mole is a NO-NO?
I guess that's lightweight hater status. But I'm just reporting back to you what I see here. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose.

OH. MY. GOD.

If I get malaria and DIE you will know it was because of all the mosquitoes here that I was bitten by. I swear I feel like a blood whore to all of these things. Who knows what I contracted from them? (ha.ha.)
In the last 3 days, I have killed more mosquitoes than ever in my life.
I have become a pro at hearing the precise location of said mosquitoes, and a master-executioner.
Really though, I am hella mad that I have all these ugly bites. The mosquitoes in Taiwan leave permanent darker spots on your skin where they bit you...like, until hella layers of skin wear off. And of course, I scratch. Which leads to unsightly scabs and redness.

I cant handle this. I am going crazy from this Culicidae attack. Specifically, the one that is going on right now, against a stealthy quick little guy. I have almost gotten him like 4 times but somehow he manages to escape the blows. I am literally pausing at points while writing this blog to try and kill this "m. f-er".

And the worst part of this situation is I have some smoke ring repellent burning outside of my balcony door, and a bajillion watt mosquito attracting lamp shining brightly in my room all night every night. And yet, none of this does any good to save me from being bitten.

I must say, it IS a beautiful night tonight. Its a balmy 74 degrees, and I've got the fan blowing in my room. It is quite comfortable except for my little pesky roommate. I have this huge window/small balcony coming off of my room, and I stand there (doors shut) and stare at the city. The lights stay on all night, just like New York, and there's this peaceful hum resounding from the cars and the noise.

I've been staying up WAY too late. I went to bed at 5am today. Its okay though, I have class at 12!

Love always.

SOO much ISH has gone down

1. I found out today my parents might be living together again after a year and a half of separation.

2. I got back from HK in one piece. (No food poisoning! ...Phew)

3. My sister went to SB and experienced an annual tradition there that I miss and love, experienced some of what I lived through, and ran into many friends along the way.

4. I spent entirely too much money on this:

5. I justified said purchase by telling myself I am sharing the bag with my sister so therefore its halfway a present and its ok to spend that much on a present. (LIES)

6. I went to McDonald's and found out their escape plan isn't emergency stairs, its.....
....AN ESCAPE ZIPLINE!! Guess I gotta make sure I'm not on the second or third floor of a McD's during an emergency situation!

7. I awoke today and checked my facebook only to experience one of the most thoughtful things my roomies have ever done. (Printed out a few pix of me, attached them to popsicle sticks to bring me along with them to Vegas)

8. I dunno, my hands smell like pineapple?

Sad Morning

I went up the mountain to visit my grandparents this morning. They reside in the Veterans Memorial Hall in YangMingSan National Park. It was a sight to see, man.
Tomb Sweeping day is the national holiday where all families go to their loved ones graves to pay respects. There were so many people there today (Tomb sweeping day is in 2 weeks, so I guess we were all early birds).
There were tables set out where people took turns placing pictures and offerings to their deceased loved ones, as well as burning incense for them. There was also a incinerating chamber down the way where people were burning fake money to send up to their family members in heaven. After it was our turn to set up our offerings table, we went into the building to go visit my grandparents' urns. I don't know the proper term for it but they are sitting side by side in a sealed drawer in their own little urns. I bowed to my grandparents and told them I was there representing my mom and sister as well, and of course my emotional-ass was crying. It was sort of embarrassing because my family doesn't really do the whole crying thing, and I was the only one sniffling in the silent row. They understood. I cried out of sadness for not having had a lot of time with either of my grandparent's. Both of my cousins that were there had grown up having them in the same house, and I was upset to think that I didn't actually know either of them well at all. Nonetheless, the love was there when they were alive, and that's really all I need. It was a really interesting experience because none of this happens when someone dies in the states. I am obviously not describing it well, but with the exception of my grandma's funeral, this was all foreign to me.

Its late.

Damn, I haven't blogged in a while...

A lot of things have transpired, I guess I've been busy:
-Evidently I have a new emo-ass Swedish metro boyfriend who tells me he misses my face and goodnight every night...(I met this dude, and he took a liking to me, and he was cute, so I invited him to kick it with my friends and I at a bar, but then he got kinda crazy so I'm booting his ass soon)

-I got into college (round 2)

-I turned 21

-I've been to the library more hours these past 2 weeks than in my whole life.

-I have started to think in Chinese...

Oh damn, gotta cut it short, my friends are here to pick me up for dinner
Heres a cute picture to hold you over:

Hello kitty chocolates in a hello kitty tin. How ador.

Its gettin hot in here....

.....And Chinese people evidently don't fuxx with DEODORANT. Oh. My. God. It is like, 76 degrees with hella humidity and I am sitting in a stuffy bus with armpit stank allllllll around me! What is the deaaaaaal?!

On Friday night, some friends and I are going out to celebrate my 21st. 1st were headed to some spot called Peacock (hah) for dinner and drinks and then we're going to Ktv=Karaoke (huuuuge thing here in Asia) to pregame, and then out to some club or bar. Its gonna be a jam-packed evening. I just wish you all could be here to get shitty with me. On Saturday, my family and I are driving to the seashore to have the freshest fish possible: You buy live seafood at the docks where they bring in the catches of the day, walk half a block, go into a restaurant with your stuff, and the people cook it there for you! Its amazing. You get to manage portions, decide what specific animal you want to devour, and get to tell them how to cook it! I am such a fatass.
At night the cuzzo's and some friends and I are going outtttttt. I don't think I am doing anything on my birthday day.

I'm not supposed to tell anyone but my aunt took me to the Shiseido spa on Tuesday evening. We got full-body massages, and facials. SOOOO NICE! First, we got into what I thought was a sauna that then transformed into a SHOWER! I got kinda claustraphobic. Then we soaked our feet and the "spa technitions" massaged them...mmm. Then we got all lubed up and the ladies massaged us. Lightweight painful but the good kind of pain. She even massaged my butt a little! heeheee. Facial was standard, except at the end she painted on some kind of gel that covered my whole entire face except for my nostril holes and I got kind of scared. But then I fell asleep and was snoring (as usual, unless someone nudges me).
All in all it was a great spa evening, and my face looks pretty good!
The pollution here is making my skin so nasty and old looking. It sucks.

I am headed to Hong Kong at some point soon to do some partying and shopping with my cousins. My uncle works for China Airlines so we're getting hooked up with plane tickets. I'm also going so that my Visa will start over and I wont have to go to the American consulate to extend my visa another 30 days (they only issued me a 90 day visa).

This is sort of a boring post I guess.... Here is a picture of what I love to eat while watching The City or Sober House on my computer:

Lucky Stick: "Biscuit stick covered with strawberry flavored cream," relative of Pocky.
Not as good biscuit-to-strawberry cream ratio as Pocky. It was all they had at the 7-11 this time. Yummy nonetheless.
...See my poof-hair? Thats what 50% humidity everyday does to a bitch.

OK. I am a bit obessessed

BUT CHECK IT:

Yes folks, that is my cousin paying for our DELIVERY MCDONALDS!!!!!!!!!!!
They deliver from almost every Mickey Deez here! The delivery person comes on a scooter wearing that food-container as a backpack. There is a bottom compartment for the bags of food and a top shelf with cupholders for your drink. HOW SMART IS THAT? And it came in 15 minutes!
Whyyy can't the U.S.A hop on the bandwagon?

My aunt keeps talking about how I am sooo drunk

But I'm not thaaat drunk. I can type!

I just got back from SheeMenDing with my aunt. Suuuuper trendy. I basically wanted to buy everything. Then we went to some dive, and aunty thinks I'm shitfaced from 3 drinks. Some of you may agree with her but I swear I'm good. Since there are sparse tree connects, and since you get your hands cut off if you are caught smoking trees, I have resorted to alcohol. I am building some sort of tolerance. Alcohol, I love thee. Taiwan Beer, I love thee. This is me finishing the night off at the afterparty (aka alone in my room):

OK thats enough.

This post is dedicated to those Mickey Deez Lovers in the closet (and out)

You know who you are.

Today, I had my first Taiwan McDonald's experience in years. I ordered a "Double fillet-o-fish". Yes folks, as in a Big Mac, but with fish instead of beef. I was unfortunately disapointed. You see, the McD's in Taiwan have to have an"asian flavoring" in order to sell. If it tasted like it does in the U.S. guaranteed they wouldn't be as successful. So, instead of the regular thousand island (on the big mac) or mayonaise with relish (on the fillet-o-fish), they have some sort of sweet mayonaise with some red dots....I dunno..... strange. It tasted Asian alright.
Anyway, it was exciting to see a double decker fillet-o-fish, and whats more, on a whole wheat bun!

The fries were delish, not the regular greasy-ass chemical-y taste. Much better here, I'd say.

Lastly, the Coca Cola (and other soda's for that matter) in Taiwan also has/have "asian flavoring". I've been told there is a "Chinese medicinal herb flavor" in it. (too bad its not the medicinal herb I'm familiar with that I taste)
I miss America's regular old DC.

Love always.

Checkkkk it.

So I've had a bunch of pictures from Taiwan on my computer for dayyyz but the internet connection suckkks. If any of you have skyped with me, you might know of these troubles I've been having. Anyway, I might have to resort to just putting photos up on my blog over the weekends when I am at my uncles house (with a better connection)...or...... I don't know.

Regardless, I have orientation on Wednesday, and class begins on Thursday! So exciting! I have to make friends so I can go out at night without my cousins :-).
(hotties swing my waaay....)....

I got my nails did today. Black with a CalGel flower/rhinestones. Lightweight tight. Dumbweight expensive. I guess thats what I get for going to a trendy Japanese spot.

I am getting my hair cut/dyed professionally for the first time in a year and a half tomorrow. Wow. It's been so long. I hope I don't have an orange mullet when I leave.

Jk, these chicks are pros.

Maxine (my beautiful sister with the big boobs and luscious booty, who I miss dearly) tells me I talk too much about material things on this blog. But I sweaaar it's because I don't have the pictures up to show you all of the sightseeing (aka window shopping & wandering the streets of Taipei) I've been doing.

For instance, today was one of the first days I was really alone. No cousins to show me around, no "adult supervision". It was really nice having this freedom because my whole family worries about me and makes sure to remind me to eat breakfast, wear a jacket, and not let my heart fully control all of the relationships with men/boys in my life.

So anyway, today I went to Breeze Center to meet my aunt and her friend for lunch at Dean & Deluca. After, I ventured on the subway (which is so clean and comes every 3 minutes in every direction) to Warner Village. Both of these places are malls. The malls here are sooo legit. Super clean and upscale (Chloe, Gucci, Hermes, Chanel, Louis Vuitton etc) but also have trendy shops that I can actually afford. Since the weather is often unbearable outside, it's nice to go into the air-conditioned mall to just walk around and pass the time. So yea, it was fun to leisurely walk wherever, and do whatever, and then be home by 6:30 for dinner.

I am super juiced for school, super bummed at the thought of exams and homework and papers, but overall, JUIIICED.
I miss you all. I miss the people I talk to everyday, and I miss the ones I hardly ever speak with.

I might have a friend visiting me here in Taiwan soon, if he's down to stay at the nearby hotel (conservative Chinese aunt/uncle).

Love always.

YESSSS

GOT 'EM(Dior 60's)! Happy Early Birthday to Meeeeee

It looks like I wont be getting the MbMJ bag I had my eyes set on...there has been some DROMZ regarding the damn thang. So sad. Until next season MJ.... r.i.p purple leather and gold metal woven beautiful piece of artwork.

.....On another note, my aunt gave me the wrong computer cord for the camera I'm using so the HILARIOUS picture I have to show you will not be in this post :(

(Non-materialistic part of this post):

I am helping out at my aunts preschool/kindergarten and I swear every day that passes makes me happier and happier. The kids love me. They want me to sit next to them at every juncture: snacktime, lunchtime, english class, chinese class. I taught some of the girls the "slide baby" game. They love chanting "slide baby one, baby two, baby I love you!" even when we aren't playing. They are always trying to impress me with the English words they know. They'll point to the pictures that they draw and tell me, "Tree! Cat! Leaf!" with such pride. All the parents tell my aunt that their children come home from school and talk about "Oona jie jie" (Big sis Oona).

I love kids. I used to think I hated them, but I actually really love kids. (As long as I don't have to take them home with me at night)....Maybe THIS is my true calling. It is hella satisfying to feel like you make a childs day a bit brighter. (I know, HELLLLA cheeeezy but ITS TRUE!)

...Until next time, folks.

Love always.

okaaaaaaaay

Finally got my hands on a camera. So I will begin uploading AMAZING photos soon.
Its late here, but I just wanted to alert anyone reading to the fact that they wont have to read my banter anymore, there will be pretty pictures to look at.
Tonight I went and had sushi with my aunts and I saw a dude with a full on MULLET. Business in the front, Party in the back. No joke, it was full fledged. The party-section was down to his shoulders too. Amazement.

....Dior sunglasses tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Love Taiwan

Know why?

....Cuz I got my nails did for 500 NT$= around 17 U.S. Dollaz

Unfortunately the picture does not do my nails justice. They are helllllllllllllla sparkly with jewely jewls.

...and I got my hair washed aka a 20 minute head massage and Blow dry/straightening for 200 NT$= around 7.50 U.S. Dollaz

My aunt keeps talking shit to me about how much I love being prettified. It is starting to get irritating. I try to be as low maint as possible, and all she loves talking about is how I have hella clothes and shoes and how I need to lose weight (CHINESE PEOPLE, I SWEAR)... Good thing I was actively working on my positivity for a few months before I came here. I wont let the "Chinese way" get me down. At the end of the day, I have to remember it is all out of love.

A few things:
1. If you live in an apartment, you cannot flush ANY products besides waste down the toilets. This includes used toilet paper, tampons, etc. I feel like thats sorta unsanitary........

2. You can bring your own alcohol to 2nd rate restaurants (neighborhood spots, anything besides nice-ass places). Last night I went to dinner with my aunt and her high school friends, and a few of them brought bottles of whiskey and plum wine (which coincidently is DISGUSTING). It was fun to get drunk with some loud, happy, drunk Asians.

3. My cousin brought his girlfriend of 4 years over today and I swear I absolutley CANNOT picture them getting freaky or doing dirty things. This sounds suuuper perverted because its my cousin but we all know how I am. haha. She's just so dainty and cute and nice and innocent seeming...I better stop here because I was about to write something really outta pocket. :)

4. Tomorrow I think I'm going to buy these Dior sunglasses i've had my eye on for a long time. For some reason they are less-expensive here, so WHY NOT?! Early b*day present to myself!

5. I have found the spot where I am getting all my *favorites* their gifts. Be juiced cuz this store is amazing! I wont give away anymore details.

6. I have made a new friend. His name is Jett. Jett as in Jet Lee (haha, I swear thats what he said to me). He is my aunts friends son. He seems chill, speaks English really well, as well as some spanish (its his major....WHAT?!) and he likes to go out. Since my dork-o cousin doesnt do shit, it'll be nice to go out with someone else my age. I was planning on going out myself. (I'm trying to be adventurous).

I still havent gotten a hold of a camera, but i'll have one by Monday for sure.

Love always.

Today

So its 9am on Friday here in Taipei, and I am wide awake. My computer is still set to USA time, and seeing as its 5pm in California, I obviously wouldn't be tired. Yesterday I went to register at my school. Only saw a few hotties. I have been to almost every huge mall, and its only been 3 days. HAHA.

I got bitten by the hugest mosquito ever, and the bites are huge as well. I guess I have more of those to look forward to. The weather is hot and humid and the sky is grey from all the pollution (yuck). I found out they have to burn a large portion of the garbage on this island because it is tiny and there is no room for landfills.

*Fashion update: Everyone, and I literally mean EVERYONE has a name-brand purse. Be it fake or real (mostly real), it is crucial for all women and men alike to tote cute little Louis or Gucci bags. I feel sort of stupid for leaving my D&G and Gucci purses at home. (oh well, gotta bring some originality to the place). I think it is just because I am in the city, but I swear I have seen such gross displays of wealth, I sorta feel like I'm in LA. For instance: I saw a woman wearing black ankle length jeans with huge bleach spots all over, carrying an ugly ass baby pink Gucci purse, holding her celly-cell in a red quilted Chanel case, and grey Ferragamo pumps. Her outfit was a mess, but since she had all these random name brand items, she could carry herself with "pride".
Moccasin boots are pretty popular here, though I've only really seen ankle length ones. I wore my knee-highs and people were staring. I get stared at a lot. I've found the best way to deal is to give a huge smile. Smiles are universal, you know.

Love always.

I have arrived!!

I am in Taiwan.

The weather is alright: grey, humid, and warm.

As my uncle and I drove on the freeway, we saw a woman who had gotten into a scooter accident on the side of the road. Her body was split open from the crotch, and I saw her insides. I almost vomited and cried at the same time because she was still alive. But I could tell there was no way to save her. What a warm welcome. I'm trying to forget that image.

My cousin Daniel and I are watching Chinese comedy shows on TV. I usually end up laughing after my cousin because it takes a minute for the language to register, and for the humor to make sense to me. Nevertheless, I already feel as though my Chinese is improving.

It is HILARIOUS because my mother, aunt, and cousin have all made sure to remind me not to have anything to do with WEED here because it is SUUUUPER illegal.
My cousin has never come in contact with the chron (at 21 years old). He doesn't even know how much it costs. I am constantly reminded of all of the cultural differences between the States and Taiwan.

Maxine SW requested some Taiwan fashion updates so here goes:
*MY COUSIN HAS AN ORANGE MULLET!* I tolllllld youuuu thats all the rage here!!
As for clothing, I haven't gone into the city yet (where fashion is at its most competitive), so stay posted. I will take pictures.

It is so funny because on facebook, all the advertisements are in Chinese characters, and I cant read them. OH WELL!

OH and as an update, on China Airlines you check in up to 2 pieces of luggage that weigh 50 lbs each. So my freak-out about having too much stuff was a complete waste of time..
...You live and you learn, I guessssss

One funny thing about Asia is that there is a fake something for everything. My uncle has a FAKE IPHONE! Its crazy, it looks so real!! They even etched "Designed by Apple in California" on the back.

I'm a little sleepy so I will end for now, more interesting blogs to follow.

Love always.

Final Thoughts...

As I prepare to embark, I am stressed! I never thought a few months in another country would stress me out this much. I missed an opportunity to hug and kiss my MERMIE one last time last night (Thanks to Brett @ Medjool). That stressed me out.

I have a million loads of laundry to do, and most of all: I CAN ONLY BRING 50 LBS OF LUGGAGE! Now, I know that sounds like a lot, but its not. (The suitcases weigh like 15 lbs alone! I weighed them!) I had to cut down my shoe count from 30 to *significantly less* pairs, and I have unhappily removed a few precious purses from what I call my "Taiwan Selection". You see, I am trying to maintain my American sense of fashion, and not buckle to the "harajuku meets chinese villager" steez they got goin on there. You'd think after a few bad dye jobs, guys would understand that orange mullets are not cute (sorry orange-y mullet dudes). So I have been whittling my collection down to mostly essentials: White J.Crew collared button up, frayed cutoff denim shorts, grandpa-esque long cardigans, vintage tanks and tees, etc.
I will miss my rainbow color-coded closet, with my lovely purses hanging in waterfall order (from longest to shortest in length)...

I know it sounds redic, but this is hard. I express myself through my clothing, and I hope I will be happy with what i've got. If I'm not though, I might just have to spend some time at Taipei 101 or something. ;)

It's only 4 months. It's only 4 months. It's only 4 months. It's only 4 months. It's only 4 months. It's only 4 months.

Clothes can hang in my closet for 4 months, but what about my friends? I will miss you all so. Don't forget about me, be ready to rage when I get back, and HIT ME UP ON SKYPE!!!!! I ONLY HAVE 2 SKYPE FRIENDS! btw my mom calls it "skypie". haha.

Last entry in the USA I think. (unless I get ambitious in SFO)...Do they have WIFI on the plane in the air? hmmmm

Love always.

I finally tried out my Skype account with a friend, and I want YOU to get Skype, and find me, and add me, and videochat with me while I'm away.

Its almost that time...

I am set to embark in 8 days. 8 DAYS?!?!?!!

oh god.

There are so many things I have to take care of before I go! So many people I feel like I must see! I am getting hella excited about this. There were a few things causing me to feel held back, but luckily, they have all walked off into the distance as forgotten memories, as many things do.
So. If you are reading this, hit me up these next few days, I will be attempting to jam-pack my schedule so that I can maximize social time. I can sleep when I'm dead right??!

OH! One thing that suuuucks is that my visa has been issued for 90 days. My stay in Taiwan is for upwards of 120 days. AAHHH! I WILL BE AN ILLEGAL!!!! Either that, or face the Taiwanese/American consulate for another afternoon of extensive paperwork to extend the damn visa.

Vday is coming up. This is my 1st single valentines day in 2 years, so I am eager to spend this hallmark holiday with friends. It'll probably go exactly the same as the last 2 (dinner, drinks, movie, holding hands, etc), oh, minus the LOVIN' afterwards (DAMN!)....
--Thank god for GV!--

So Today...

I got a replacement JB hat. It's Brown, knit, and made in China. I lost my first one I think... or maybe it's just in the back of my closet somewhere.
Nevertheless, I happened to go to MbMJ today and remembered I didn't have it in my regular rotation. So Mom
z bought it for me! (sweet.)

Annnnd, yup!

It's my favorite hat! I love the shade (and fade) of brown it is, and I
hella like the slouchy-in-the-back-of-the-head thing it's got goin on.. I wish I had a picture to show YOU.
Hahaha. Leave it to me to get all emo about a hat at 1am.

Oh yea! Random, but as a continuation of the former post: They've got these gorgeous Plum/Cherry Blossom trees in the mountains of Taiwan above the city:

Blogs are for Emo's

So I guess I fit the bill.....
No but really, I created this blog to keep whoever is interested updated on my life in Taiwan. So, I haven't left yet or anything, but here's a preview of where I shall be.

But until mid-February I'm still here, and shopping furiously at my favorite spots like:

Love always.

oh! p.s. Shout outs to CEEBZ who came up with my URL name. <3
